An Event In Solidarity With Flood Affected Children
An all-day event ‘Baye Parav’ was
organised by New Bonvivant English School Srinagar on 13th of
November, 2014. The event was in solidarity with the flood affected children.
The day started with the distribution of school bags and stationary items at Shutra
Shahi. Principal Boys Higher Secondary school Batamaloo, Mr. Nisar Ahmed Ahnger
and SO director of school education, Mr. Nusrat Beigh distributed school bags
among the children. Mr Rouf Ahmed Wani, President Sutra Shahi was also present
at the occasion. Later in the day, the bags and stationary items were also
distributed at Padshahibagh and Bemina.
At 5:30 PM, around 500 students
of our school assembled at Nawakadal chowk to participate in the solidarity
march which was flagged off by Dr. Amit Wanchu, CEO Space Communications. The students
carrying candles and placards then marched towards the Eidgha Park were a large
number of people had gathered to witness the event. Thousands of candles were
then lit to form the slogan ‘Kashmir Will Rise Again Inshaallah’. The students
also formed the map of Kashmir by sitting on the ground. The students then observed
a 2 minute silence to remember the flood victims. Mr NA Wani, Chairman New
Bonvivant School while addressing the gathering talked about the need to rejuvenate
the spirit of resilience among the young generation he also talked about the
age old Kashmiri tradition of praying “Nafil” at EidGha. Dr Amit Wanchu also
spoke on the occasion. The event concluded with dua-e-majlis.
